The Feature

A gay, meth-addicted advertising writer gets a shot at redemption when he’s chosen by God—disguised as a twink on Grindr—to save New York City from smartphone addiction.

A modern reimagining of the Book of Jonah. Based on a true story.

MINOR PROPHET. MAJOR PROBLEM.

It’s 2009, New York City. Jonas is at a meth-fueled sex party when he begins talking with a mysterious twink on Grindr named Jack. When Jack turns out to be God in disguise, Jonas gets sent on a mission to save New York City from its growing addiction to technology— a journey that will force him to confront his own addiction before it destroys him.

A MODERN PARABLE FOR OUR ADDICTED AGE

My Name Is Jonas explores addiction, social isolation, and the search for meaning in an increasingly disconnected world. Slamdance describes the screenplay as “a drug-fueled spiritual odyssey reminiscent of Trainspotting and The Big Lebowski.”

The original anti-hero returns.

The Book of Jonah is an ancient Jewish legend about a rebel prophet who tries running away from his mission in life. The film reimagines key plot points from the original text and reintroduces audiences to one of the unlikeliest superheroes of all time.
